Blessed Jeong Yak-jong Augustine

Jeong Yak-jong authored the two-volume Jugyo Yoj i (주교요지),a Korean-language catechism written so that anyone could easily understandChurch teaching. For a person to die for the Lord is the most natural duty inlife. On the Day of Judgment, our tears will become true joy, and your laughterwill become true sorrow.”Before his beheading, he said, “It is better to die looking toward Heaven thanlooking down at the earth,” and he offered his life looking upward.
