Stable Chapel (외양간 경당)

This place was once the well-known Gaegap Marketplace, where 최여겸 마티아(Blessed Matthew Choi Yeogyeom) was beheaded and martyred. It is designated asGochang County Local Cultural Heritage No. 1. At the center stands a memorialtower symbolizing the martyr ascending to heaven, and the Way of the Crossencircles the shrine grounds. The exact site of Blessed Matthew Choi’sexecution is marked within the shrine.
