Seoul Museum of History
The Seoul Museum of History (์์ธ์ญ์ฌ๋ฐ๋ฌผ๊ด) is a museum that opened in 2002 on the former site of Gyeonghuigung Palace (๊ฒฝํฌ๊ถํฐ). It is an urban history museum that systematically presents the history and culture of Seoul from prehistoric times to the modern era. The permanent exhibitions are divided into five sections, covering the Joseon Dynasty period, the opening of ports and the Korean Empire period, the Japanese colonial period, and Seoul during the period of rapid growth. In particular, the exhibition hall dealing with Seoul during the Japanese colonial period allows visitors to closely examine daily life and historical events of that time. It is an important cultural space that provides opportunities to experience the history and culture of Seoul.
