The DMZ Museum (DMZ박물관) was established in August 2009 along the road leading up to the Unification Observatory (통일전망대) after completing entry registration. Through the DMZ, the sole remaining symbol of a divided nation on earth, it reconstructs and presents the appearance of the Korean Peninsula before and after the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, the historical significance of the Armistice Line (휴전선), and the ecological environment of the DMZ.
