Seungni Observatory (์น๋ฆฌ ์ ๋ง๋)
The Seungni Observatory (์น๋ฆฌ์ ๋ง๋), located in Geunnam-myeon, Cheorwon-gun (์ฒ ์๊ตฐ ๊ทผ๋จ๋ฉด), is situated at the exact center of the Armistice Line. It opened in 2002. This observatory stands at an elevation of 495 meters, in the very heart of a militarily strategic area, and is currently the closest point within the DMZ to North Koreaโs armistice monitoring post. From here, visitors can view movements of North Korean forces, as well as the Gyeongwon Railway Line (๊ฒฝ์์ ์ฒ ๋), the Gwangsam Plain (๊ด์ผํ์ผ), and the village of Achim-ri (์์นจ๋ฆฌ), taking in at a glance the on-site reality of the division between North and South Korea.
