Jinmueong Martyrs’ Shrine

Jinmueongwas a military garrison created during the reign of King Sukjong for coastaldefense, strategically connecting Ganghwa Island with surrounding militaryposts. After the 1866 French invasion (병인양요), its role expanded. In May1868, 장치선and 최영준were executed here on charges of collaboratingwith foreign forces, and the site became a place of execution for Catholics.

Locatedinside the parish church; relatively small in scale but close to Gabwot Shrine.
