YakhyeonChurch is the first Western-style Catholic church in Korea. Built in 1892, itis a brick Romanesque structure and the first church constructed in thecountry.

TheSeosomun Martyrs’ Memorial Church, built forthe 100th anniversary of Yakhyeon’s establishment, enshrines the relics ofsixteen saints, including those of St. Nam Jong-sam John andSt. Heo Gye-im Magdalene, who were martyred at Seosomun,as well as relics of St. Andrew Kim Dae-geon. It alsohouses memorial tablets of the martyrs who died at Seosomun.
