Knownas the “Apostle of Geoje,” Blessed Joseph Yun Bong-mun served as a parishleader, gathering the faithful with Father Rovert, teaching catechism, andassisting in evangelization. Arrested in 1888 and taken to the Tongyeonggovernment office, he refused to apostatize even under pressure from themagistrate. Later transferred to Jinju, he endured repeated interrogations andtorture, steadfastly professing his faith and reciting the Ten Commandments. Atthe age of thirty-six, he was executed by hanging in prison, bearing witness tothe faith until the end.
