Built on one of the former execution grounds of theJoseon government, this parish stands in an area where a Catholic community hadtaken root long ago. After the establishment of the Archdiocese of Daegu, itwas elevated to parish status. Many pilgrims visit as part of the routehonoring the relics of St. John Yi Yun-il, the secondary patron of thearchdiocese.
