This cemetery is the resting place of the Catholicswho died during the 1901 ์ ์ถ๊ต์(Shinchuk Persecution),together with those executed at ๊ด๋์ (Gwandeokjeong) and surrounding areas. Incommemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Catholic mission in Jeju, thesite was restored and developed into a memorial park, with the remains ofunnamed martyrs interred in a communal tomb.
