The Odusan Unification Observatory (์˜ค๋‘์‚ฐํ†ต์ผ์ „๋ง๋Œ€) is located at the summit of Odusan Mountain (์˜ค๋‘์‚ฐ), at an elevation of 118 meters, where the Han River (ํ•œ๊ฐ•) and the Imjin River (์ž„์ง„๊ฐ•) meet. Today, it is also a poignant site at the northernmost end of the western front, where the South and the North, separated by the Imjin River, have been unable to cross the short distance of 2 kilometers for more than half a century. The Odusan Unification Observatory was established to embody the Korean peopleโ€™s longing for reunification. It serves as a place of unification education where visitors can directly witness the reality of division and sense the daily life of North Korean residents, as well as a family outing destination and an international unification and security tourism site frequently visited by foreign guests.
